There is something almost alchemical about color grading — a technical process with a deeply emotional result. Watching it unfold for the first time in a telecine suite, seeing an image transform under the colorist's hand in real time, I knew I had to master it. I started grading professionally, refining my eye alongside some of the best in the business. But mastering the final frame made one thing clear: I needed to understand the first. That desire led me behind the camera as a Director of Photography. Today, that complete command of the image — from the moment of capture to the last grade — runs through everything I make.
